Catalytic Converter, Rear Passenger Side

The right-hand catalytic converter has a separate service ability for its heat shield if needed. New fasteners with gaskets must be used while cleaning the flange surfaces before putting on new gaskets ensures an effective seal. Position the vehicle in neutral standing position as you place it on a hoist for servicing work. Start by taking out the Y-pipe of the exhaust system then proceed to detach the right-hand catalyst monitor sensor. The next step requires you to remove two bolts which secure the bracket to the right-hand catalytic converter. Transition the bolts tightly to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) once reinstallation begins. After removing the four nuts break away the right-hand catalytic converter so dispose of the nuts and gasket. You must tighten the catalytic converter to 40 Nm when reinstalling. Release and discard the four studs which attach the right-hand catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold while reinstalling those studs to a torque of 25 Nm (18 lb-ft). Removal should end by putting a replacement gasket along with fresh nuts and studs.

Service of the catalytic converter begins by suspending the vehicle through a hoist set in NEUTRAL position. The service requires removal of the two Y-pipe flange nuts and their gasket while reinstallation should maintain a torque of 40 Nm (30 lb-ft). During reinstallation of the Torca clamp nut aim to tighten it to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft). Use this opening to detach the catalytic converter portion from both the muffler and tailpipe. Reverse your steps for installation of the new catalytic converter but always install new gaskets and exhaust fasteners. Use the engine to check for exhaust leaks after the installation process is complete.

Reverse the removal procedure, ensuring to install a new gasket, nuts, and studs.
