Place the vehicle into NEUTRAL mode on a hoist before beginning service or repair of the fluid pan. A transmission servo heat shield must be unclipped from the fluid pan rail when present in order to effectively remove the fluid pan. A drain pan should be positioned underneath the transmission fluid pan while draining the transmission fluid. Begin by removing all transmission fluid pan screws but keeping two screws at the front intact. Next, loosen the front screws slightly while prying the back of the pan down to finish draining all fluid before taking out the front screws. The worker needs to extract the fluid pan from the system while discarding the gasket. Unscrewing the transmission fluid filter completes the removal process before discarding it. Check that the fluid pan along with the magnet show no obstructions on mating surfaces. Flush the transmission fluid cooler and its idles. Before installing the new filter onto the main control valve body you should use automatic transmission fluid to lubricate its O-ring seals to avoid damage. You need to set the oil pan magnet inside the fluid pan before installing a fresh gasket and screwing the screws loosely onto the pan. The procedure requires a crisscross pattern for screw tightening. The heat shield of servo can be relocated before clipping it onto the pan rail. The vehicle needs to be lowered next before using the park brake while starting the engine. The fluid filling process for dry transmission should start with at least 3.7 liters (4 quarts) of fresh automatic transmission fluid followed by checking the fluid level and evaluating transmission performance. The range selector lever must be cycled through all gears before checking the fluid level once again.

Placing the vehicle on a hoist with NEUTRAL gear selection is the first step for automatic transmission fluid filter servicing and repair. Equipment allows removing the transmission servo heat shield which attaches to the fluid pan rail by unclipping it for access. All screws on the fluid pan need removal apart from the two front screws which should remain loose before draining the transmission fluid. The rear side of the fluid pan needs prying down to drain fluid before both front screws can be removed. Drain the fluid from the transmission pan before removing it together with the worn-out gasket. First remove and discard the transmission fluid filter after unscrewing and withdrawing it from the system. Check all surface areas of both the fluid pan and magnet while cleaning them to confirm their mating surfaces are free from any obstruction. The new fluid filter O-ring seals require transmission fluid lubrication before installation to avoid any damage to the components. Place the new filter at the main control valve body seating then fasten it with a screw set to 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.). Reinstall the magnet into the fluid pan before placing a new gasket on the surface then secure the screws while maintaining loose tension. Before final tightening of screws follow a crisscross pattern that reaches 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.). Reinstall the servo heat shield before torquing it to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.). The transmission requires a minimum of 3.7 liters (4 quarts) of clean automatic transmission fluid before reaching its correct operational level. Put on the park brake and start the engine as you operate the range selector through all gears before confirming the transmission fluid level.

Lubricate the new fluid filter O-ring seals with clean automatic transmission fluid to prevent damage.

Remove all transmission fluid pan screws except for two at the front, loosen those two, and pry the rear of the pan down to let the fluid drain.

Tighten the screws in a crisscross sequence.

Remove all transmission fluid pan screws except for two at the front, then loosen the front two screws.

Place the oil pan magnet in the transmission fluid pan and position a new gasket on the pan.
