Service and repair of the A/C expansion valve starts by recovering all refrigerant then continues with valve component disassembly in correct order. The service requires a sequential removal of components according to the specification. The installation of the new valve requires the reverse removal steps while the fridge requires proper lubrication from clean PAG oil in the correct amount. The critical step before reattaching disconnected A/C fittings requires installing new O-ring seals which need clean PAG oil lubrication. The last steps involve evacuation and leaking tests and final refrigerant charging of the system. Begin service and repair of the A/C expansion valve by gathering refrigerant. Unplug the A/C expansion valve harness and take off the two A/C line tubings using their fittings to discard the O-ring seals. You will need to detach the A/C expansion valve manifold bolt to extract the A/C expansion valve while disposing of its O-ring seals. After taking apart the system, put in new lubricated O-ring seals that undergo mineral oil treatment. Load the refrigerant system with the proper amount of clean PAG-7 oil that matches Motorcraft YN-12-C specifications. Conclude by removing air from the system, then checking for leaks before adding refrigerant to the system. First step in servicing the expansion valve requires you to take out the A/C evaporator core. Split the insulator tape and take off its clip before using wrenches on both fittings to detach the A/C connections without harming their fittings. Once the core is clear take off the thermal expansion valve from its place. To set up the new valve use the new O-ring seals and clean YN-12-C oil with WSH-M1C231-B Ford specifications that you apply on hidden connections. Join together the refrigerant tubes particularly the A/C liquid jumper line and the A/C suction jumper line. Reinstall the A/C evaporator core and check the system for correct operation.

Evacuate, leak test, and charge the refrigerant system.
