A/C Hose, Evaporator Installation and Repair Tips for 2003 Mercury Sable

  • Q: How is the evaporator core serviced as a core and housing assembly on 2003 Mercury Sable?
A: Service the evaporator core as a core and housing assembly. Take out the heater core and housing, seals and the RCC module of EATC vehicles. Disconnect parts, such as the temperature blend door actuator and vacuum hose. Install again, of course in reverse order, but both with the EATC and manual climate control cars, with all the connections and seals in place.
  • Q: How to Service and Repair the A/C Hose from Condenser to Evaporator on a 3.0L (2V) Engine on 2003 Mercury Sable?
A: In the case of 3.0L (2V): eliminate suction accumulator, position radiator air deflector downwards, disconnect condenser-to-evaporator line, replace O-ring, lubricated with either PAG oil F7AZ-19589-DA (YN-12-C) or WSH-M1C231-B. To 3.0L (4V): disconnect purge valve and power-steering reservoir, spring-lock connecting, and O-ring. Assemble, evacuate, leak-test and charge A/C system.
