Disconnect the catalyst monitor sensor, Y-pipe of exhaust and the support bracket bolts. Install new catalytic converter nuts and studs and screw them to a given torque. Reinstall using a new gasket.
- Q: How to Service and Repair the Intermediate Exhaust Pipe on 2008 Mercury Sable?A: In order to fix up the exhaust middle tube, raise the vehicle in neutral. Unscrew the Y-pipe flange nuts and gasket and screw new ones as tight as 40 Nm. Tighten the Torca clamp nut to 55 Nm and then loosen it. Install new gaskets and remove the old pipe, and inspect leaks, after engine has started.
