2000 Lincoln LS A/C Switch Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the A/C Switch control assembly on 2000 Lincoln LS?
A: The first step to work on the control assembly requires disconnecting the battery power supply. After disconnecting the battery start by removing the ashtray finish panel and disconnecting the connector. A mini-pick should be used to extract the center register from the instrument panel while simultaneously disconnecting the connector if the device has it. Detach the screws and pull away the Dual Automatic Temperature Control (DATC) and radio assembly from the instrument panel before disconnecting its two connectors. The removal process requires the detachment of two screws from each side section of the dual automatic temperature control assembly while watching out for the three pins near the top of the bezel assembly which connect to the radio bezel base. Reverse all procedures for installation. When installing new dual automatic temperature control module it is necessary to follow the configuration process according to Module Communications Network (Information Bus) guidelines.
