2001 Lincoln LS A/C Switch Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the A/C Switch control assembly on 2001 Lincoln LS?
A: The battery requires disconnecting as the first step for control assembly service and repair. The service procedure begins by detaching the ashtray finish panel before disconnecting the connector. You should first disconnect the connector of the instrument panel center register by using a mini-pick. The first step requires you to remove the screws and then push the Dual Automatic Temperature Control (DATC) assembly together with the radio unit from the instrument panel where you can disconnect the two connectors. The dual automatic temperature control assembly can be taken out by removing four screws that are found on each side of the unit while being cautious to avoid damaging the three pins at the top of the bezel assembly which fit into the radio bezel's bottom. The installation process should follow the reverse order of removal steps with special attention to correct configuration of a new dual automatic temperature control module.
