The repair of evaporator core begins with plenum assembly removal followed by unscrewing and detaching the heater core outlet bracket. The plenum assembly top requires removal of its 14 screws to lift off the top section. The operator later removes the A/C evaporator core out of the plenum assembly. The steps for installing the new evaporator core should be performed in the exact reverse order of removal. In the replacement of A/C evaporator cores one must apply PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or equivalent oil meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B.
