How to service and repair the main A/C Switch on 2001 Ford F-150?

The service and repair of the main climate control starts with battery disconnection. After rotating the vents inside you must pull the panel outward by using the vent openings to remove the center instrument panel finish panel. Letting go of the panel allows technicians to disconnect the Passenger Air Bag Deactivation (PAD) switch electrical connector as well as the 4WD control switch connector in order to take out the center instrument panel finish panel completely. The next step involves removing the climate control assembly through disassembly of its screws before extraction. Unplug all electrical connections together with vacuum line connectors from the climate control assembly. Installation will be the reverse order of removal steps.
