2001 Ford F-150 Blend Door Actuator Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Blend Door Actuator on 2001 Ford F-150?
A: The first step for servicing or repairing an air door actuator/motor is to take out the floor duct panel through pushpin extraction followed by expander clip release. The right-hand instrument panel brace can be removed after you detach its nut and bolt combination. Work to uninstall the left-hand panel lower nut and unscrew the three essential bolts to set the module away. The duct on the floor requires removal of two screws from both sides before extracting the duct. The procedure to disassemble the panel/floor door involves disconnecting the vacuum line connector from the vacuum control motor then removing screws before pulling out the rod from the door using vacuum control motor rotation to separate the panel/floor door. To detach the electronic blend door actuator fully you must disconnect the connector then take out the screws before lowering the device to free the actuator shaft. The installation procedure should follow the opposite order of decomposition.
