How to Service and Repair an A/C Hose on 2001 Ford Ranger?

A proper repair or servicing of the HVAC hose/line requires completion of the Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery Procedure. The service technician must detach and throw away the O-ring seals when removing the evaporator core's condenser to evaporator line spring lock coupling. Use the next step to first disconnect the condenser to evaporator line from the condenser core and then remove the line while discarding the O-ring seal. Reverse the installation process by lubricating the refrigerant system properly with PAG oil or equivalent and putting in new O-ring seals which received PAG oil or equivalent lubrication. The refrigerant system requires evacuation then leak testing and subsequent charging as the last step. A replacement of the suction accumulator is required only when system contamination arises from a faulty A/C compressor or damage to the suction accumulator.
