2001 Ford Taurus Cruise Control Servo Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the cruise control servo on 2001 Ford Taurus?
A: Begin the cruise control servo service and repair procedure by disconnecting the grounding connection of the battery. The next step entails separating the speed control servo electrical connector after depressing the connector tab. Push the retaining tab of the speed control cable cap to release it. The cap can then be turned counterclockwise before pulling it away from the servo housing. The speed control cable requires disconnecting through spring release of its retainer while moving the core wire end away from the speed control servo pulley. Uninstall the speed control servo by removing its two nuts before removing the servo itself. The installation process ends by unfastening the bracket from the speed control servo using screws. Follow the opposite steps from removal to install the parts.
