- Q: How to service the upper right control arm on 2001 Lincoln LS?A: The service of the upper right control arm starts by taking out the nut which is discarded followed by separating wires and electrical connectors attached to the bracket. There are three bolts to be removed along with the bracket before discarding the upcoming nut. Attach wires around the wheel knuckle body to secure it before removing the strut with the spring assembly. Before unwinding the nut start with easing its tension and quickly activate the hex holder to stop the ball joint movement. The tapered washer from the ball joint should stay secure before disconnecting the suspension upper arm from the knuckle. Next remove the bolt and proceed to remove both suspension upper arm and the bolt before discarding everything.
