2001 Mercury Cougar Blower Control Switches Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair Blower Control Switches on 2001 Mercury Cougar?
A: The blower motor switch service requires removal of first the audio unit then the floor console along with the switch assembly. Disconnect both electrical connectors from the switch assembly before separating it from its housing. The first step for heater control/audio unit bezel detachment involves unscrewing the panel but following it with clip release to remove the unit from its position. The next step involves the removal of the heater control/audio unit bezel followed by electrical connector detachment and vacuum line unattachment. Next in order is the removal of the heater control panel with subsequent removal of the blower motor switch. Installation happens through performing the complete opposite method of removal.
