  A: The first step when servicing the HVAC accumulator requires refrigerant recovery as a requirement. Wear a back up wrench because you should disconnect the suction accumulator/drier while using it on the A/C cycling switch connector and the evaporator core outlet tube to avoid damaging the fitting and tube. There are two steps to perform before removing the suction accumulator/drier. First disconnect the manifold and tube assembly followed by taking out the bracket clamp bolts. Take off the A/C cycling switch from the suction accumulator/drier after you complete the removal steps. Installation should be performed by reversing the removal steps while servicing the new suction accumulator/drier with PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or equivalent product satisfying Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B. The replacement O-ring must also receive the same PAG refrigerant oil. A back up wrench should be used for installation to prevent damaging the fitting along with the tube.
