2002 Ford F-350 Super Duty A/C Accumulator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service the A/C Accumulator with Auxiliary Climate Control on 2002 Ford F-350 Super Duty?
A: The service of an accumulator HVAC requires recovering all refrigerant materials as the first step. Work on disconnecting three components: the A/C cycling switch connector and the evaporator core outlet tube as well as the auxiliary line fitting. A back up wrench should be used during suction accumulator/drier removal because it protects both fitting and tube from damage. After the pipe assembly disconnection service the suction accumulator/drier assembly by removing its bracket clamp bolts before taking it out. The A/C cycling switch must be taken away from the suction accumulator/drier unit. Reverse the removal steps for suction accumulator/drier replacement while applying PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or WSH-M1C231-B equivalent to the replacement and apply the oil to the O-ring seal. Before installing the fitting apply a back up wrench to prevent damage to tubing.
