2004 Ford E-150 Evaporator Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the evaporator core in the auxiliary climate control system on 2004 Ford E-150?
A: The first step to service or repair the evaporator core in auxiliary climate control system is to remove the air conditioning and heater assembly. You must disconnect the evaporator core spring lock couplings which require disposal of the O-ring seals. First displace the heater water hoses before disconnecting the evaporator case cover through screw removal. You should first remove the cover along with the A/C evaporator core by taking off its seal after cover removal. One must take out the thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) after peeling off the seal for a second time. The reversal of removal steps should be followed for installation.
