How to Service a High-Intensity Discharge (HID) Headlight Bulb on 2004 Ford Focus?

The first step in servicing a high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamp bulb requires disconnecting the headlamp assembly electrical connector since there are high voltage hazards present. The service of HID headlamp bulbs starts with removal of the headlamp assembly followed by removal of the headlamp cover. First disconnect the electrical connector from the headlamp bulb ignitor before removing the ignitor from service.
