The service begins by taking apart the throttle body and proceeding to the fuel rail before moving onto the oil level indicator and its connecting tube. Removal of the intake manifold vacuum hose begins with removing the pin-type retainer and setting the vacuum hose off to the side. It is necessary to disconnect the power brake booster vacuum tube by using the quick release locking ring to depress it and removing the tube from the fitting. Extract the fuel vapor return hose from the intake manifold before disconnection of the idle air control (IAC) motor electrical connector and the swirl control valve electrical connector and the knock sensor (KS) electrical connector where you will need to remove the pin-type retainer on the KS connector.
