Service and repair of the upper intake manifold requires beginning with air cleaner outlet tube and cranks case ventilation tube removal before clamping them loose and finally removing the air cleaner outlet tube again. Begin the procedure by uninstalling the three nuts which secure the engine appearance cover then disconnect the throttle cable and speed control cable (if equipped) followed by its bracket bolts. After disconnecting the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector the technician should disconnect idle air control (IAC) electrical connector then move on to disconnect the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve vacuum hose and EGR tube nut.
