    A: Service of the lower intake manifold requires proper safety measures due to its highly flammable mixture content. First service technicians must remove fuel system pressure to avoid spraying accidents before disconnecting the vehicle ground cable. The service begins by removing the upper intake manifold before proceeding to disconnect the fuel supply tube quick connect coupling at the fuel rail and the fuel rail pressure and temperature sensor electrical connector and the vacuum tube. After disconnecting the six fuel injector electrical connectors the eight lower intake manifold bolts need to be removed in order to separate the lower intake manifold which requires new gasket replacement. All surfaces that need sealing should be thoroughly cleaned and inspected after which new gaskets should be installed. Install the bottom manifold and tighten its bolts to 10 Nm through the required torque sequence. The installation process requires attaching fuel injector electrical connectors, fuel rail pressure and temperature sensor electrical connector and vacuum tube and lastly the fuel supply tube quick connect coupling at the fuel rail. The last step involves placing the upper intake manifold along with reconnecting the battery ground cable.
