How to Service the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2005 Ford Excursion?

Service of the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor starts with disconnecting the battery cable and taking off the accessory drive belt from the A/C compressor pulley. Service the CKP sensor by first supporting the vehicle then detaching the wiring harness from both the CKP sensor and A/C compressor field coil electrical connector. The servicing process requires A/C compressor bolts only to be loosened until the compressor slides down one inch to reach the CKP sensor. Pull out the bolt which maintains the CKP sensor before extracting the sensor body. You should proceed with the sensor installation step by step in reverse order of removal.
