2005 Lincoln LS Coolant Reservoir Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the coolant reservoir on 2005 Lincoln LS?
A: The service process for coolant reservoirs beings with draining the cooling system. The service of coolant reservoir starts with cowl panel grille removal followed by removing the bolts securing the cross vehicle support. Reinstall these bolts at 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) torque. The service begins with engine vent hose and air bleed hose removal from the degas bottle followed by setting them aside before disconnecting the degas bottle return hose. The technician must remove two bolts which secure the degas bottle after tightening these fasteners to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.) before reinstalling. Reverse the removal steps while performing cooling system fill-ups and bleeding.
