2006 Ford Crown Victoria Turn Signal Switch Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the turn signal switch on 2006 Ford Crown Victoria?
A: Before working on the turn signal switch it is necessary to disable the supplemental restraint system (SRS). The ignition switch lock cylinder removal process requires positioning the switch to RUN then using suitable tools to push upward on the release tab while pulling the cylinder outward. The first step includes removing the tilt release lever/handle before using the palms to push in the upper steering column shroud's sides. Secure the upper and lower steering column shrouds with the provided three screws before tightening them to 2 Nm (18 inch lbs.) torque specification. Three electrical connections of the multi-function switch must be disconnected before removing the two retaining screws which should get tightened to 3 Nm (27 inch lbs.) when reinstalling. Reinstall the SRS system through the reverse process and restore power to it.
