2006 Ford Taurus Turn Signal Switch Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the turn signal switch on 2006 Ford Taurus?
A: The first step before servicing or repairing the turn signal switch requires disabling the supplemental restraint system. To access the ignition switch lock cylinder start by using the ignition key to set it to RUN position then push the release tab with a punch while extracting the cylinder. Plunge the steering column tilt lever before removing its three screws that hold the steering column cover in place, then detach both upper and lower steering column covers. Complete installation requires sufficient screw torque of 3 Nm (27 inch lbs.) on the multifunction switch screws after uninstallation. First disconnect the electrical cables from the multifunction switch and move on to separate the switch unit. The supplemental restraint system (SRS) needs to be reactivated after performing a reverse installation process.
