2006 Lincoln Town Car Turn Signal Switch Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the turn signal switch on 2006 Lincoln Town Car?
A: The first procedure in servicing and repairing the turn signal switch includes disabling the supplemental restraint system (SRS). First position the ignition switch lock cylinder to RUN then insert a suitable tool to push and pull simultaneously on the cylinder release tab until it comes loose from its housing. Proceed by taking out the tilt release lever/handle. The driver can begin by pushing the shroud sides inward to expose its upper steering column shroud system and then remove the three screws which secure the upper and lower steering column shrouds. The owner must re-tighten these screws to 2 Nm (18 inch lbs.) when reinstalling. To install the multi-function switch requires disconnecting its three electrical connectors before removing both holding screws that need to be tightened at 3 Nm (27 inch lbs.) during installation. Reverse the removal method to establish power for the supplemental restraint system (SRS).
