The hex tool will prevent turning the studs as you take off the stabilizer bar upper link nut before discarding it. The installation requires you to tighten the nut to 103 Nm (76 ft. lbs.). When servicing the tripod CV joint avoid allowing the axle shaft to extend beyond its normal position because such movement can trigger internal failure of shaft components as well as axle failure.
