  A: The procedure to service the intake manifold should start with disconnecting the battery ground cable. The first step involves removing the air cleaner outlet pipe before users disconnect the knock sensor (KS) electrical connector and the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) tube and brake booster vacuum hose and main vacuum harness fitting and evaporative emissions (EVAP) tube from the intake manifold. The service includes disconnecting both the EGR system module electrical connector and wiring harness retainer before proceeding to remove the EGR system module vacuum fitting. To disconnect the exhaust manifold-to-EGR system module tube from the EGR system module proceed by loosening the fitting and re-tighten it to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.) when reinstalling. Disconnect both the TP sensor electrical connector and the TB electrical connector before removing their fastener to detach the wiring harness bracket from the electronic TB. Reinstall the bracket with a torque of 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.). Replace the bolts and intake manifold while inspecting gaskets before installation because metal scrapers could cause leaks in the sealing surfaces. Use only a plastic scraper when cleaning the surfaces and replace gaskets if needed. After reversing the removal steps reinstall the intake manifold by tightening its bolts to 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.).
