Service and repair of the front bumper cover starts by applying tape at its corners and under the headlamps to protect paint surfaces. A hoist should receive the vehicle while it remains in neutral position. The service process starts by taking out the 6 pin-type retainers that contain 3 components each side and continues with the fender splash shield bolts which need 2 bolts per side while reinstallation requires tightening these bolts to 8 Nm (71 lb-in). The following task requires the removal of the four air deflector bolts before tightening them to 8 Nm (71 lb-in) when reinstalling. Then remove the 2 pin-type retainers located at the center of the front bumper cover and the 2 outer ones positioned on each side. Disable view fog lamps by taking off electrical connectors when present on the vehicle. The 2 upper bumper cover securing bolts need removal and subsequent installation with 8 Nm of torque (71 lb-in). The configuration of the front bumper cover installation requires placing the front bumper forward before applying medial pressure at the headlamp base to latch it into position on the bumper slides.
