• Q: How to service the third row seat cushion on 2007 Ford Freestar?

  A: Start servicing the third row seat cushion by removing both the third row seat along with its backrest. Detach the latch covers by removing screws and pin-type retainers along with J-clips. Cautiously unwinding the seat upholstery from the hook and loop strip will prevent damage to both the seat backrest foam pad and the upholstery. Disassemble all hog rings before removing the cushion trim covering together with the foam pad from the seat cushion pan. Reinstall the bolt on each safety belt buckle while tightening it to 58 Nm (43 lb-ft) torque on the LH side before doing the same operation on the RH side. The seat pan becomes visible after releasing the two cushion latch cables while directing the handle until it passes through the seat pan opening. Then remove the cables from their seat cushion pan clips. You need to remove the two bolts that secure the RH cushion latch while reattaching them with a torque of 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) followed by similar procedures for the LH cushion latch. The assembly process finishes by doing the opposite of what was performed during disassembly.
