Start by removing both the air cleaner outlet pipe together with the throttle body. The servicing of the 4.0L SOHC thermostat housing requires disconnecting the engine coolant temperature sensor electrical connector while detaching the upper radiator hose, heater inlet hose and bypass hose attached to the thermostat housing. Place all detached components to one side. Take off the thermostat housing by draining three lower housing bolts. The installation process requires running the exact reverse procedure from removal while tightening the bolts to 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs.). The cooling system requires filling and bleeding to execute the completion of the procedure.
