2007 Lincoln Mark LT A/C Accumulator Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the A/C Accumulator on 2007 Lincoln Mark LT?
A: The service process for the suction accumulator requires refrigerant recovery as the first step. The service begins by taking out the powertrain control module (PCM) and battery with the battery tray afterward removing the PCM bracket by uninstalling its three bolts while tightening the bracket to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) upon reinstalling. Use a new O-ring seal to connect the suction accumulator outlet fitting after removing the fitting nut until it achieves a torque of 8 Nm (71 lb-in). Disconnect the inlet fitting of the suction accumulator while removing the O-ring seals and dispose of them properly. Most importantly install the two suction accumulator bracket nuts with a verification torque value of 9 Nm (80 lb-in). To complete the removal process reverse the installation steps and install new O-ring seals while using clean PAG oil to lubricate a correct amount of the refrigeration system. The technician must finish by evacuating and testing for leaks then charging the refrigerant system.
