2008 Ford Escape A/C Condenser Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the A/C Condenser Core on 2008 Ford Escape?
A: Service operations for condenser cores should start with hoisting the vehicle and recovering refrigerant while it remains in neutral gear. You should remove the front bumper and bolt the four radiator brackets while tightening them to 8 Nm (71 lb-in). Detach the right-hand and left-hand radiator brackets before you disconnect the condenser outlet and inlet fitting nuts which require new O-ring and gasket seals upon reinstallation at 15 Nm (11 lb-ft). Technicians must disconnect the clamps attached to automatic transmission cooler lines which lead to the A/C condenser. They must note that the transmission outlet line connects to the top clamp while the lower clamp attaches to the transmission inlet line on the driver side. Before reinstalling it is crucial to tighten both condenser bolts to 7 Nm (62 lb-in) then take away the condenser core. The installation completion requires installing fresh gasket and O-ring seals followed by correct clean PAG oil application to the refrigerant system and evacuation and leak testing and charging of the refrigerant system.
