    A: The radiator cooling fan motor and shroud service needs to begin with raising the vehicle on a hoist when it is in neutral gear. Before working on the cooling system of 2.3L vehicles users must drain fluid. The service and repair process requires first removing the front bumper cover along with the front impact severity sensor followed by 2 pin-type retainer and 4 bolt removal of the two radiator brackets. Install the bolts with a torque setting of 10 Nm (89 lb-in). Make a note of the hood latch position before starting to unbolt the nut so you can set it aside together with the 2 bolts which require 9 Nm (80 lb-in) torque when reinstalling. The process begins with unplugging two wiring harness retainers from both front bumper brackets and the central support bolt during reinstallation. These three components should receive a torque of 10 Nm (89 lb-in). Disconnect the electrical connector from the resister and the main coolant recovery hose of the radiator for 2.3L vehicles and place them aside. To work on the lower degas bottle hose on 3.0L vehicles disconnect the hose from the cooling fan motor unit and fan shroud. The service process involves disconnecting cooling fan electrical connectors before removing the 2 cooling fan bolts together with the cooling fan motor and shroud under a 71 lbs-in torque setting for reinstallation.
