Disconnect the negative battery terminal cable first before you take out the pin-type retainer, six bolts, left-hand splash shield, and tighten the bolts to 9 Nm (80 lb-in) when reinstalling the components. The starter solenoid wire deserves 5 Nm (44 lb-in) tightening force when assembling it. When replacing the starter motor solenoid terminal cover you should disconnect its battery cable nut and then reinstall it with tight torques set to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). The wiring harness retainer should be disconnected and put aside with the harness before removing the ground strap nut while maintaining a torque of 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) after reinstallation. The starter motor and two stud bolts must be removed before installation while torquing the components to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft). Finish the installation by returning to the steps in the reverse order from removal.
