2008 Ford Mustang Radiator Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Properly Maintain and Repair a Radiator on a 2008 Ford Mustang?
A: A service operation on the radiator starts with draining the cooling system fluid. The service begins with removing six bolts that secure the lower splash shield by using a torque setting of 5 Nm (44 lb-in) for installation. Groove and remove the cooling fan motor and shroud and subsequently the air deflector and 6 pushpin retainers. Detach the degas bottle-to-radiator hose and upper radiator hose and lower radiator hose before placing them out of the working area. Through the radiator support brackets you must remove 4 bolts which should be tightened to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) when reinstalling. To replace the components begin by detaching the power steering tubes at their retaining nuts before moving the tubes out of the way. Then remove the 2 nuts from the A/C condenser and tighten them to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) during reinstall. Set aside the transmission cooler by tightening its associated bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) before installation. After radiator removal complete the task by reverting the removal process and then fill and bleed the cooling system.
