2009 Ford Mustang Radiator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the radiator on 2009 Ford Mustang?
A: Service of the radiator requires starting with cooling system drain operations. Now you need to untighten the 7 bolts that keep the lower splash shield in place before redoing them to 5 Nm (44 lb-in) once the service is over. Start by removing the air deflector together with 6 pushpin retainers. Next step is to remove the cooling fan motor together with its shroud. Set all dismantled components of the degas bottle-to-radiator hose, upper radiator hose and lower radiator hose aside throughout the service procedure. When reattaching these brackets install the 4 bolts to a torque of 10 Nm (89 lb-in). Begin by detaching the 2 power steering tubes followed by the A/C condenser retaining nuts while placing the power steering tubes at a safe location before you can remove the 2 A/C condenser bolts. Reinstallation of these components requires tightening them to 10 Nm (89 lb-in). Set the transmission cooler aside after you remove its bolts when possible just like you will reinstall the bolts at 10 Nm (89 lb-in) torque. Finally, remove the radiator. The cooling system completion requires you to return the removal sequence while performing cooling system refill and bleeding operations.
