The release of J-clips from the lower rear and both sides of the seat backrest trim cover allows you to detach pin-type retainers so you can set aside the trim cover and reinforcement board. Pull out the two side air bag module bolts installed at the seat rear before separating the side air bag module from the seat backrest. Users must apply a small screwdriver to release the electrical connector locking button before removing the connector and module. The process for installing requires controlling the electrical connector locking mechanism before connection to prevent damages from occurring due to its special keyway design in the side air bag module. The side air bag module needs to get placed into the seat backrest once the connector achieves proper seating then bolt it up with two new screws that need 23 Nm (17 lb-ft) torque settings. After putting the pin-type retainers on the trim cover rear panel you should secure the side J-clips before powering up the SRS.
