How to remove and replace the left-hand parking brake cable on 2009 Ford E-250?

The first step to replace or remove the left-hand parking brake cable requires releasing the tension on the rear parking brake system. The right-hand parking brake cable needs to be detached from the equalizer and then the left-hand parking brake cable must be removed from the intermediate parking brake cable at the cable union. Pressing the tabs allows disconnection of the parking brake cable conduit from its position on the left-hand bracket assembly. To proceed with left-hand parking brake cable replacement you must first let go of the rear parking brake cable from the parking brake actuating lever before extraction. The reverse steps describe installation of the components.
