  • Q: How to service and repair the turn signal switch on 2009 Ford Ranger?
A: The initial step for service and repair of the turn signal switch is to extract the ignition switch lock cylinder. Following RUN position with the key turn the driver should use a punch to push down the release tab as they pull out the cylinder. Use a punch to push the ignition switch lock cylinder release tab while pulling out the cylinder but only proceed if the tilt release lever exists. The first step requires three screw removal from the steering column shroud to reveal both upper and lower shrouds. You must separate electrical connectors from the multifunction switch before unscrewing the two mounting screws which secure the device. The installation of the new multifunction switch requires screw tightening at 3 Nm (27 lb-in) followed by performing the reverse steps needed for completion.
