How to Service the Lower Motor and Transmission Mount on 2009 Mercury Mariner?

Start the service procedure on the lower transmission insulator and retainer by placing the vehicle in neutral position and hoisting it before switching off the ignition. First remove the splash shield retainers followed by taking off the left-hand splash shield. Proceed by removing the bolts that attach the lateral support crossmember before tightening them to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft) when reinstalling them. Continuation requires the removal of the lower insulator through bolt that must be tightened to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft) when installed. To install the roll restrictor-to-crossmember through bolt, tighten it to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft) after completion. Toss away the engine support crossmember nut before you remove its two bolts. Reinstall these bolts with 90 Nm torque and the new nut at 175 Nm torque. Start the procedure by removing the engine support crossmember and proceed with removing the rear roll restrictor through bolt before separating the rear roll restrictor from its bracket that needs assembly torque at 90 Nm (66 lb-ft). The repair procedure ends by following the opposite sequence of steps used for removal.
