How to Service and Repair the Lower Front Motor and Transmission Mount on 2009 Mercury Mariner?

The servicing and repair of lower front transaxle support insulator starts with positioning the vehicle on a hoist in NEUTRAL gear. The first step involves taking off both the LH splash shield and the next step is dismantling the 4 bolts which support the rear cross brace. Start by removing the 2 bolts from the cross brace and the four bolts from the rear cross brace. Then detach both the lower front insulator through bolt and cross brace bolts followed by the cross brace nut and brace component itself. The first step should be removing the two bolts holding the lower front insulator before removing the insulator. When installing a new lower front insulator onto the cross brace use cross brace bolts to secure them before tightening them to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft). Install the rear cross brace followed by its nut while applying torque of 175 Nm (129 lb-ft). Proceed by securing the cross brace bolts with a torque of 90 Nm (66 lb-ft). Fitting the lower front support insulator through bolt for the mount demands a torque of 103 Nm (76 lb-ft). Set the rear cross brace back with four bolts before tightening all of them to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft) torque and complete the installation by adding the LH splash shield with its retainers.
