How to Service and Repair the Lower Front Motor and Transmission Mount on 2008 Mercury Mariner?

The service process for lower front transaxle support insulator requires hoisting the vehicle in neutral position. The first step involves removing the left-hand splash shield together with its 7 retainers before proceeding to unscrew the 4 bolts attaching the cross brace. Start by taking out the bolt that holds the mount and afterward removing the two bolts keeping the brace stable before reaching the final rear bolt to disassemble the brace unit. Take out the mount by removing its 2 foundation bolts. Put a new mount onto the cross brace then fasten the bolts while tightening them to reach 115 Nm (85 lb-ft). Fasten the cross brace into position using a nut which needs to be tightened to 175 Nm (129 lb-ft). Install the 2 bolts for the cross brace first with 90 Nm (66 lb-ft) torque and then add the through bolt of the mount at 120 Nm (89 lb-ft). Install the cross brace back into place using its 4 bolts while torquing them to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft) and put back the left-hand splash shield by tightening 7 retainers to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
