Ford E-150 A/C Hose Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to Service and Repair the A/C Hose from Condenser to Evaporator on Ford E-150?
A: Unlock the procedure for repairing the condenser to evaporator line by first recovering the refrigerant from the system. Repair of the condenser fitting requires disconnecting it from vehicles equipped with a 6.0L diesel engine and discarding the O-ring seal. The service requires removal of both engine air cleaner and air cleaner outlet tube for vehicles that use 4.6L, 5.4L or 6.8L engines. A wrench should be applied to each side of the fitting to prevent damage during removal of the condenser core refrigerant lines, the compressor discharge line, and condenser to evaporator tube where O-ring seals will be thrown away. The process for vehicles with auxiliary A/C requires removal of four clamps, a screw and clamp before disconnecting the underbody tube spring lock coupling which also requires removing discarded O-ring seals. You should use a wrench on both sides of the fitting to remove the A/C evaporator core fitting together with its screw until you discard the O-ring seal. The installation of condenser-to-evaporator tubes requests a backward process for removal which includes installing fresh O-ring seals that received mineral oil lubrication followed by appropriate PAG oil application to lubricate the refrigerant system. The A/C system needs evacuation and pressure testing and charging completion at the end of this process. Refrigerant Compressor Oil F73Z-19577-AA (Motorcraft YN-9-A) functions specifically to lubricate R-134a refrigerant system O-ring seals while PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or its equal bearing Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B serves as the A/C compressor lubricant. New suction accumulators need replacement only when the system shows signs of contamination from a broken A/C compressor or a damaged accumulator.
