How to Service and Repair a Crankshaft Seal with a Retainer Plate on Ford E-150?

In order to replace the crankshaft main bearing seal, take away the oil pan and lower the engine. Take off flexplate and back cover and scrap away crankshaft oil slinger and rear seal. Clean up, use gasket maker and replace parts. Lastly, lift up the engine, and mount the oil pan.

How to Service and Repair a Crankshaft Seal on Ford E-150?

To service the main bearing seal of the crankshaft, take off the flexplate and the engine rear cover plate. Remover crankshaft oil slinger and rear seal by Slide Hammer and dispose of. Lubricate the new seal and fit it in then the new oil slinger. Install flexplate and cover plate again.
