To maintain the power steering line, drain the oil out of the reservoir, unhook the hose on the back of the cooler and steering equipment, clamping the connection to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) when fitting it back up. Repeat the process to fit in new parts and recharge the system without introducing foreign material which will cause component failure.

How to Service the Power Steering Hose on Ford E-150?

In case of servicing power steering line and hose, raise the vehicle in neutral and empty the fluid in the reservoir. In the case of 6.0L of diesel cars, remove the upper air deflector and reservoir bracket, disconnect the coolant hoses and the pressure line fittings. Install parts again and charge up the power steering system.
