The service of engine oil dip stick and dip stick tube starts by taking out the engine air cleaner (ACL) along with the air cleaner outlet pipe. Start by taking out the LH
Exhaust Manifold followed by unbolting the nut, bolt and oil level indicator with its tube then dispose of the existing O-ring seal. Check if any damage exists on the oil level indicator tube during inspection. Engine oil facilitates the installation of new O-ring seals for the 4.6L (2V) engines before attaching the oil level indicator and bolting it in place with 10 Nm (89 lb-in) torque. When installing the bolt on the 5.4L (2V) engine you must first lubricate a new O-ring seal before positioning the oil level indicator then bolt installation with 10 Nm (89 lb-in) torque. Use torque to fasten the front oil level indicator along with tube support bracket nut to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft). The last step is to replace the LH exhaust manifold then install the ACL outlet pipe together with ACL.
