How to service the knock sensor (KS) on Ford Edge?

The service of the knock sensor (KS) requires starting by taking out the thermostat housing before removing the lower intake manifold and coolant tube and discarding the O-ring seal. You need to disconnect the KS electrical connector and then remove its securing two bolts. Follow these steps for installing the new knock sensor by lubricating its new O-ring with clean engine coolant and securing the bolts to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) torque. Then execute the bolts' removal procedure in reverse order.
