The first step to fix a non-functional ignition switch lock cylinder requires PATS transceiver removal followed by ignition lock cylinder removal. Drilling the lock cylinder retaining pin requires a 1/8-inch diameter drill bit followed by using a 3/8-inch diameter drill to penetrate the ignition lock key slot which breaks loose the ignition lock cylinder. Keep the ignition lock cylinder with all drilling debris that comes from the steering column for disposal. First separate the bearing retainer from other components then proceed to take out the steering column lock housing bearing and steering column lock gear.
