How to service the windshield washer pump on Ford Escape?

The windshield washer pump service starts with disassembly of the right-hand front wheel and tire then the right-hand front splash shield. Proper drainage of the windshield washer reservoir is necessary to avoid fluid spilling because the washer solution includes harmful methanol which must be handled according to label cautions. First cut the power connection apart from the washer pump hose and break the pump loose from its mounting position. Install the windshield washer pump only when the washer reservoir contains fluid to prevent equipment damage. First reverse the removal process while inserting Ultra-Clear Windshield Washer Concentrate C9AZ-19550-AC or BC or an equivalent which complies with Ford specification ESR-M17P5-A.
