How is the Rear Crossmember Serviced on Ford Expedition?

In order to service the rear cross-member, lift the vehicle using the transmission in neutral. Take out the skid plate and exhaust heat shield clamps. Unscrew the nuts of the transmission block, hold the transmission up and label the crossmember. Take out and replace the crossmember bolts, and tighten to recommended torque. Installation is finished by reversing the procedure.

Service Rear cross-member Raise the vehicle and remove the skid plate where necessary. Disassemble exhaust heat shield fasteners and transmission mount nuts (tight to 103 Nm when re-installed). Prostabilize the transmission, stamp its location and loosen crossmember bolts (tighten to 90 Nm during re-fit). Uninstall through Reverse process.
