A/C Hose, Evaporator Installation and Repair Tips for 2008 Ford Explorer

  • Q: How to service the front auxiliary evaporator outlet and inlet A/C Hose on 2008 Ford Explorer?
A: In order to service front auxiliary evaporator lines, recover the refrigerant first. Unscrew the inlet line, and junk the O-ring seals. Take off the running board on the right, the rear wheel and unconnect the outlet line. Loosen and re-fit the auxiliary line brackets and make sure they are tightened. Install new O-ring seals and lubricate the system then charge.
  • Q: How to service the evaporator core on 2008 Ford Explorer?
A: To service the evaporator core, do a vacuum leak test in case of a potential leak. Take out the heater core followed by the screws that hold the cover of the evaporator core. Unzip the cover and remove the rope seal. Uninstall the evaporator core, and proceed to install it in reverse with RTV sealant instead of rope seal.
